Kitase thinks Final Fantasy XV should be an action RPG

In an interview with Edge Magazine, Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer and Square Enix mainstay Yoshinori Kitase suggested a changing future for Final Fantasy games.
Kitase expressed his opinion that players seem to be drawn more to action RPGs instead of the traditional turn-based style:
Although other Square Enix developers might differ, Kitase clearly seems to think it's instrumental for Final Fantasy to go in the action RPG direction. Finally, he continues the "maybe, maybe not" routine we've been given ever since the developers began mentioning a next game:
So nothing conclusive yet. But we may just say goodbye to the turn-based style Final Fantasy has been known for.

"I think the nature of the franchise is to present something new each time"

"In the global market we see many players moving away from games that used turn-based systems toward what you might term an action-RPG."
"That's a trend, and you ignore things like that at your peril."
